I am Brian Lubbs. I found my passion later in life than I had hoped. After a couple of bachelor’s degrees and years in the corporate world, I realized that the holistic tools I sought out to overcome physical injuries, heal emotional traumas, find better health habits, and bring happiness into my life would eventually manifest into a business. In 2019, I made the choice to leave the corporate path and commit to a service‑oriented career, and in 2025 I reimagined my business as Ocean Song Healing Arts.
Massage has been part of my life since childhood, when I first helped my mother ease the symptoms of multiple sclerosis with foot and leg rubs. Later, as a competitive swimmer, I experienced firsthand how therapeutic touch supported performance and recovery. Those early impressions stayed with me, and over time I developed a natural gift for intuitive massage. Formal training at the San Francisco School of Massage further deepened my skills, allowing me to blend clinical techniques with the empathy and care that first inspired me.
While caring for my mother and offering her intuitive healing touch, I began to feel her MS symptoms in my own body as an Empath. After her death, I sought to understand this empathic ability and heal emotionally. In 2005, that search led me to Reiki, where I became certified at Level 2 in the Usui Shiki Ryoho lineage. The attunements were transformative, giving me tools to channel healing energy with intention. Over the years, I continued to practice Reiki and intuitive massage with friends and family, often witnessing remarkable results. In 2023, I completed Reiki Master Teacher certification, expanding my ability to share and teach this work. Reiki and intuitive Lightwork remain cornerstones of my practice, offering a way to connect deeply with clients beyond the physical body.
Struggling with back pain and disc injuries, I turned to Yoga in search of healing. In 2010, I discovered the right style at Desert Song Yoga and Healing Arts, where alignment‑focused Hatha practices taught me to rebuild strength, gain stability, and correct my posture. Yoga not only restored my body but also transformed my perspective, guiding me toward the happiness I had been missing through its philosophy. Committed to deepening my practice, I earned my teaching certificate in 2016 at Desert Song and explored other styles of yoga. Today, Tantric meditative practices and Yoga Nidra are a vital part of my life, and the wisdom of yoga continues to inform my holistic approach to healing.
Together, massage, Reiki, and yoga form the foundation of for my personal healing. Each modality reflects a chapter of my journey. Together they helped me remember that I am body, mind, soul, and spirit. My mission is simple: to help people feel better, heal, and live healthier lives through touch, intention, and teaching. Ocean Song Healing Arts is the culmination of my path, and an invitation for you to begin yours.
